Mr. Myers
Principal
I appreciate the opportunity to work with young people and share my witness in an environment that is nurturing to all. I married my high school girlfriend Charlotte Ann Webster. The summer of 2009 we will celebrate out 40th wedding anniversary. We were blessed with two children daughter Beth and son Craig. We have four grandchildren that live in southwest Ohio. Eden Grove Academy has been a beacon of Christian ministry in southwest Ohio since 1921!
Connie Pushkar
Administrative Assistant
I have been married for 51 years and my husband and I have a son and daughter. We also have one grandchild. I retired from Public School in 2000 and came to Eden Grove Academy to work with Mr. Myers. I have worked for Mr. Myers for a long time and always enjoyed my working year with him. The following is a prayer that I read everyday. You go nowhere by accident. Wherever you go, God is sending you. Wherever you are, God has put you there. God has a purpose in you being there. Christ, who dwells in you, has something he wants to do through you, where you are. Believe this, and go in his grace, and love, and power. Amen. Rev. Richard Halverson, Late Senate Chaplain

Pre-Kindergarten
I became a teacher more than thirty-five years ago. I desired to make a lasting impact on the lives of children. I believe that enabling children to grow and learn through new and creative processes will help to shape their thinking and stretch them beyond any of life’s limitations. In the words of Albert Einstein “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” I know that I have successfully made a difference when parents express how much their child has grown in knowledge and creative expression. I am so blessed to be able to deposit a wealth of information that extends beyond the classroom.
What I enjoy about teaching is seeing the spark in a child’s eye when he or she has discovered something new. I am inspired by the minds of young children as they seek to learn different ways of understanding the world. There are always challenges but nothing can compare to the joy and fulfillment I receive when a new concept has been grasped or a new way of thinking has emerged. I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of a profession that molds, shapes, and encourages young minds to create.

Kindergarten
I became involved at Eden Grove Academy as a parent in 1992 and as a teacher since 2000. The wonder of Eden Grove Academy for me is the joining of spiritual infusion with academic instruction. This is my reason for choosing to teach at Eden Grove. I am married to Richard Mingie and we have two children, Zachary and Melissa, both of whom are successful graduates of Eden Grove. I also have three grown stepsons. Eden Grove has blessed my family as I am certain it will bless each family who supports its vision for our children’s future: Academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach in such a tremendous school. The children are so exciting and the environment is so positive. God is surely working in this place! I am a native Cincinnatian and have worked in many places. I have been at Eden Grove for two years now and it surely feels like home! I enjoy teaching the children about our Lord and the grace that he has given us. Ephesians 2:8 reminds me everyday that God has given such a great gift to me. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. This year is a big adjustment for your children. They are busy learning many new things and making new friends. Hopefully by the end of the year we will be ready for 2nd grade! Enjoy and have a blessed day! Mark 10:13-16 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

I find great joy in helping to lay the best positive foundation for each student to learn and grow to the highest potential of their ability. Each student is a precious jewel waiting to be polished and prepared for their special place in this world. I am so blessed to have the privilege of teaching these gems. I have two grown children. My son is a composer and concert pianist. My lovely daughter has our only three grandchildren: Roxanne 18, Jacob 13, and Shelly 12. We are American Indian, and enjoy gathering with our people to keep our culture together and encourage one another.

My wife Valerie and I met and married in Flint, MI. We both were raised on farms. When we met we were Christians and we went to church at the Church of Christ and Christian Union (3CU). We sang in a family group for a number of years and made two records and traveled throughout the eastern U.S. and Canada. We then went to college and I received a bachelors degree in Teaching and Bible. After college we worked for the Salvation Army running a community center and youth programs. After our daughter was married we moved to Cincinnati and became members of the Pillar Community Chapel. Now I enjoy teaching and preaching at Eden Grove. The Lord had led us to a wonderful place. Our favorite verse is Psalm 139:14 I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. Val and I have one daughter Melissa and she is married to Brad Snyder. Their two children are Christopher, 6, and Steven, 4. Throughout our Christian life we have always wanted to be in the middle of where God is moving. We have found God moving in a mighty way here and count our blessings for being part of it.

5th Grade Homeroom and 5th-8th Grade Math
I am here at Eden Grove Academy because this is where God has led me and I could not be content anywhere else. My goals as an educator are to establish a classroom environment and build relationships with the students that will allow them to discover who they are and to reach their greatest potential for Christ. I think this philosophy is summed up in one of my favorite bible verses. Philippians 3:14 says, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ.

6th Grade Homeroom and 5th-8th Grade English
My first three years teaching, I was a learning disability tutor at Main Elementary School in Beavercreek, Ohio. During my last year at Beavercreek, my husband took a job in Cincinnati. We relocated and the drive convinced me I needed to find a job locally. I was hired to teach in a SBH (Severe Behavior Handicap) classroom. I held this job for four years. The following two years, I taught third grade. The remainder of my time in Covington was in a combination 5th/6th grade room. In 1999, I accepted a position at Eden Grove Academy. The fifth through eighth grade are departmentalized this year. My homeroom class is the sixth grade. I teach writing, English, spelling, science, and Bible to my homeroom. After lunch, we switch classes. I teach English to the fifth, seventh, and eighth grade classrooms. While academics are an important part of what we do at Eden Grove Academy, our spiritual emphasis is vitally important. My prayer is that when the students leave Eden Grove that they are able to succeed at any school they attend academically as well as stand firm as a Christian. I want my students to leave my room "rooted and grounded" in the knowledge of Jesus.
Jackie Dinkins
7th Grade Homeroom and 5th-8th Grade History
I worked at EGA from 1986 to 1998 as the registrar in the office and also the fifth grade teacher from 1991 to 1998. In 2006-07 I came back to EGA and worked as the fifth grade teacher. At present I am serving as the fifth through eighth grade history teacher. I also teach seventh grade science, Bible and spelling. Presently I am teaching because I believe this is where God wants me as the door to EGA opened. As a teacher the greatest reward is when students come back years later and tell you how much they enjoyed your classes. I love it when they recall things that went on in the classroom or on a field trip. Most rewarding of all is when they know that you really care about them. Some have even said they considered me their favorite teacher. Cool! My husband, Larry W. Dinkins, Sr and I have been married 40 years and we have been blessed with four wonderful children. God has blessed us with 19 amazing grandchildren. The oldest just turned 14 in January. Eight of them are presently attending Eden Grove Academy.

I believe that EGA is a ministry of God. I know that God has placed me here to prepare young people for high school. My husband is a minister at Florence Wesleyan. I have four children, two daughters in-law, and two grandchildren (with another on the way.)
